An easy habit. Fill, press, drink. Hydrogen fades over time, so drink it within an hour.
Glass, not plastic. The bottle is borosilicate glass. It doesn't hold on to tastes or odors, it's easy to clean, and you can watch the hydrogen bubbles rise.
More water per fill. The 400 mL bottle is bigger than many hydrogen bottles, so it's easier to drink a good amount through the day.

That little hiss is a good sign. Hydrogen builds slight pressure under the cap. You'll hear it when you open it, so drink soon after.
Clean infusion. The solid polymer electrolysis (SPE) cell uses a DuPont® proton exchange membrane (PEM). Hydrogen goes up into your water. Oxygen and by-products such as chlorine and ozone are separated out and vented away from it.
Quality plates. The electrode plates are platinum-coated titanium, not bare steel.

First time
Take the glass bottle off the generator, then wash the bottle and lid with warm, soapy water.
Remove the waterproof plug from the generator. It ships wet on purpose, to keep the membrane moist.
Twist the bottle onto the generator by hand. Plug in the USB cable and charge for 3–4 hours, until the light stops blinking. Then unplug it.
Rinse the generator with warm water, with the bottle attached.
Expect a break-in period: output builds over the first week of use.
Every day
Fill with room-temperature drinking water to just below the threads.
Press once for 5 minutes (blue light) or twice for 10 minutes (green light). A third press turns it off.
When the light goes off, it's done. Drink within an hour for the most hydrogen.
Running more than two cycles in a row? Loosen the lid to let the pressure out.
A flashing red light means the battery is low. Charge it.
Using your own bottle? Choose one that screws on firmly, and tighten it by hand.
Leaking? Check the seals, tighten the lid, and fill only to just below the threads.
Care
Self-clean weekly: hold the power button 5 seconds (red light). Pour that water away; don't drink it.
Descale once or twice a month: 1 part white vinegar, lemon juice, or citric acid to 3 parts water. Soak overnight, then rinse well.
The bottle is glass, so handle it with care. Wash it off the generator; never submerge the generator itself. Replacement glass bottles are available for purchase from us.
Always leave a little water in it, so the plates never dry out.
Don't leave it plugged in all day. Let the battery run down partly before recharging. If it dies mid-cycle, you can finish that cycle on the charger, but then let it charge fully before using it again.
Less gas than usual, or an odor? Descale it, or try a different water.
Use filtered or purified water when you can. It keeps the plates cleaner, so you descale less often.

How long does the hydrogen last? Drink within an hour; hydrogen leaves the water over time.
Which water should I use? Any clean drinking water, at room temperature.
Do I need filters? No. Just self-clean weekly and descale monthly.
Why is it wet when it arrives? It ships wet on purpose to protect the membrane.
My readings are low at first. Give it about a week of regular use to break in.
How many charges does the battery get? About 400.

In a small pilot study of 10 athletes, drinking hydrogen-rich water before exercise was linked to lower blood lactate during hard exercise, compared with placebo water.
