Deeper, more restful sleep and calmer evenings, so you wake up clearer.
Restful sleep support — many people take it in the evening for deeper, more settled sleep.
Supports calm and relaxation — glycine is one of the body’s own calming signals.
Wake up more rested and clearer in the morning, even after a short night.
Collagen building block — about one in every three amino acids in collagen is glycine.
Antioxidant support — glycine is one of three building blocks the body uses to make glutathione, its own antioxidant.
Naturally sweet, mixes easily — stir it into water, tea, coffee, or milk.
Why it fits bioenergetic living. Calm, restful nights are where energy gets rebuilt. Glycine is the amino acid that gelatin and bone broth are richest in, and many people eating for energy add it to balance a diet heavy in muscle meat. One ingredient, nothing else.
Why powder? The sleep research used a few grams before bed. In powder that’s a couple of scoops in a drink — no handful of capsules. (Exact amounts live in Suggested Use.)
USP Grade glycine, 99.9% pure, made in the USA. One ingredient, no fillers or additives. Packed in a bag with a scoop.
As one customer puts it: “Helps my sleep. I sleep deeper and for a longer period at night.”
Available: 250 g and 1000 g. 60-day no hassle returns.
How to start: Begin with 1 level scoop (about 1 g) once a day, mixed in water or any drink. Many people take it in the evening or before bed. Stay there for a few days and notice how you sleep and how you feel the next day.
Raising slowly: If you want more, add one scoop every few days, up to 3 scoops a day (about 3 g). Take them together before bed or spread them through the day. Stop wherever it feels right for you. More is not automatically better.
If it feels like too much: Some people notice an upset stomach or loose stools, or feel too drowsy or groggy the next morning, when the amount is higher than they need. If that shows up, take less — go back to what felt comfortable — and talk with your healthcare provider.
Practical notes:
Naturally sweet. Stir it into water, tea, coffee, warm milk, or juice. It dissolves easily.
Taking it during the day? Start with one scoop and see how you feel — some people find it relaxing.
One level scoop holds about 1 g.
Store cool, dark, and dry; keep the bag sealed.
As a dietary supplement only. Talk with your healthcare provider before use — especially if you take medication (including anything for sleep or mood), are pregnant or nursing, or are unsure what’s right for you.

How do I start taking glycine? Begin with 1 level scoop (about 1 g) once a day in water or any drink. Many people take it in the evening or before bed. Stay there for a few days and notice how you sleep and feel.
Can I raise the amount? Yes — add one scoop every few days, up to 3 scoops a day (about 3 g). Stop wherever it feels right. More is not automatically better.
What if it feels like too much? Some people notice an upset stomach or loose stools, or feel too drowsy or groggy the next morning. Take less — go back to what felt comfortable — and talk with your healthcare provider.
When is the best time to take it? For sleep, in the evening or before bed. During the day, start with one scoop and see how you feel.
What does it taste like? Lightly sweet. That’s just how glycine tastes — nothing is added. It mixes easily into hot or cold drinks.
How is glycine different from collagen or gelatin? Collagen and gelatin are whole proteins, and about a third of their amino acids are glycine. Glycine powder is that one amino acid on its own, so a small scoop gives you a set amount. Many people use both, like our Collagen Hydrolysate Powder (Grass-Fed Beef).
Why do people pair glycine with meat? Muscle meat is high in methionine and lower in glycine than the skin, bone, and broth people used to eat with it. In the bioenergetic community, many people add glycine or gelatin to bring that mix closer to whole-animal eating.
What does USP Grade mean? It meets the identity and purity standards set by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) for glycine. Ours is 99.9% pure.
What’s in it? Glycine only. No fillers or additives. Made in the USA and packed in a bag with a scoop.
How should I store it? Cool, dark, and dry, with the bag sealed.
Glycine is the smallest amino acid. The body uses it as a calming signal and as a main building block of collagen and glutathione. Taken before bed, it has been studied for sleep quality.
Restful sleep and calm — in customers’ words
“Helps my sleep. I sleep deeper and for a longer period at night.” — Jim D.
“I am taking this before bed and it is helping sleep somewhat.” — Robert T.
“In the short time I use it now I notice a relaxation right after using it” — Bart L.
Restful sleep support
Better sleep qualityBannai & Kawai (2012). Journal of Pharmacological Sciences, 118(2), 145–148. PMID 22293292. In adults who weren’t sleeping well, glycine before bed improved how well they felt they slept. Lab work points to one reason: glycine helps the body shed heat, and a small drop in core temperature is one of the body’s natural cues for sleep.
More rested next dayBannai, Kawai, Ono, Nakahara & Murakami (2012). Frontiers in Neurology, 3, 61. PMID 22529837 · PMC3328957. Healthy adults slept 25% less than usual for three nights. With 3 g of glycine before bed, they felt less tired the next day and did better on an alertness test than with placebo.
Why it may helpKawai, Sakai, Okuro, Karakawa et al. (2015). Neuropsychopharmacology, 40(6), 1405–1416. PMID 25533534. In rats, glycine gently lowered core body temperature and supported sleep through the brain’s body-clock area, which fits the heat-shedding idea above.
Collagen building block
The body may run shortMeléndez-Hevia, De Paz-Lugo, Cornish-Bowden & Cárdenas (2009). Journal of Biosciences, 34(6), 853–872. PMID 20093739. About a third of collagen is glycine. Adding up how much glycine an adult makes (about 3 g a day) and eats (1.5–3 g), the authors found it may fall about 10 g a day short of what the body uses, collagen included. They concluded glycine is worth taking as a supplement.
Antioxidant support
Glutathione building blockSekhar, Patel, Guthikonda, Reid, Balasubramanyam, Taffet & Jahoor (2011). American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 94(3), 847–853. PMID 21795440 · PMC3155927. Older adults had less glycine and less glutathione, the body’s own antioxidant, than younger adults. After two weeks of glycine plus cysteine, their glutathione rose to match the younger group, and markers of oxidative stress went down.
Post-meal glucose
Gentler post-meal glucoseGannon, Nuttall & Nuttall (2002). American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 76(6), 1302–1307. PMID 12450897. In 9 healthy adults, taking glycine (about 1 mmol per kg of lean body mass) with 25 g of glucose cut the post-meal glucose response by more than half compared with glucose alone. Insulin response was not significantly different.

Bioenergetic & low-toxin perspective
Ray Peat wrote about glycine as a calming, protective amino acid, and about getting it the traditional way, from gelatin.
“A generous supply of glycine/gelatin, against a balanced background of amino acids, has a great variety of antistress actions.” — same article
Studies Peat cited in “Gelatin, stress, longevity” (https://raypeat.com/articles/articles/gelatin.shtml):

Note: The papers above study glycine in general, not this product directly. The sleep studies were small human trials; the others are lab, animal or review papers. The glutathione study paired glycine with cysteine. Customer comments are individual experiences. The picture made it appear to be larger than the package actually is, but it’s still a good amount of glycine within. Double packaging helps to keep the light out and the contents fresh. I add it to my energy drinks, which makes them fizz up, but doesn’t affect the taste in a bad way since the glycine is sweet.
